Why Christian Education?

As a teacher with over 12 years’ experience, I began to notice how education was changing, and I didn’t like what I saw. Increasingly, parents’ rights over their children’s education were being diminished and, in addition to this, my own children were unhappy at school and not thriving as they should.
Eventually, my husband and I realised that going to a good school and having a ‘great education’ wasn’t the be all and end all—and considered the following Scripture: ‘For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?’ (Matt. 16:26) We prayed about what to do, and within a fortnight we were introduced to Christian Education.
We went to a seminar and heard about the A.C.E system, and, after more prayer, decided to send our children to the King of Kings School. I can honestly say we haven’t looked back.
There have been some issues: facilities aren’t always as impressive as secular schools, there were fewer students and a financial cost, but ALL OF THESE ARE OUTWEIGHED as our children are becoming well-rounded individuals—socially smart, academically developed, spiritually enabled and mentally stretched. They’ve taken part in amazing events like the European Student Convention, made great friends, competed in various challenges and really thrived and developed—something I never thought possible if they’d stayed in secular education. So go on, give Christian Education a try. You have nothing to lose—but you might just gain your child’s soul.
