It’s been an exciting first half of the academic year for TEACH! We’ve been grateful to see the total number of TEACH families increase to over 750. We now offer an innovative TEACH training package, designed specifically to orientate new users of the ACE programme. Most of all, we’ve enjoyed befriending so many families and hearing their stories, whether at one of our events, or when providing support via phone and email.
Something that TEACH has been keen to improve over the past couple of years is the training provided to families at the start of their home-educating journey. To this end, in 2017 we set out to create a solution which would provide the best possible launchpad to maximise the use of ACE at home.
We’re excited to say that this has been achieved through the creation of a fresh training pack, which includes an all new parents’ PACE and a completely redesigned TEACH Handbook. In addition, we have started holding a termly event at Maranatha House called ‘TEACH PACE Time’. These standalone training days serve families new and old by simulating an ACE learning centre environment and providing one-to-one support.
So far this academic year we’ve held TEACH On Tour days at New Harvest Christian Fellowship in Manchester, and most recently at Prayer City in Kent. These one day events, started in 2016, aim to bring TEACH closer to families across the UK. We have further events planned in Cornwall, Jersey, Scotland, and Watford, so if we haven’t already, we hope to see you on the road soon!
